“I Feel It All (Britt from Spoon Remix)” - Feist (listen / buy)
(From tuneage) I don’t have Feist’s “The Reminder” (I know!), but this remix got its hooks in me right away. Love the bass, love the drums, and of course her voice.
“Two Weeks” - Grizzly Bear (buy)
J sent me this wonderfully-made “Two Weeks” fan video and I think I watched it 2 or 3 times in a row. Dioramas! That move! This marks only the 2nd Grizzly Bear tune I like (the KEXP-version of “Knife” being the first).
“A Star is Born [Jay-Z + J. Cole]” - Jay-Z (listen / buy)
I knew before the first instance of the hook was over this would be a play-it-again! track. I have no shame telling you I’m a sucker for melody over kickin’ beat with an easy hook. Beyond that, I like the rap/hip-hop round-up going on.
“Does Anyone Love Me Now?” - Blue Roses (listen / buy)
Some time to kill before catching the bus home last night found me wandering through Anthropologie for a few minutes. I like the giant letters and bygone-era stuff that litters the store (the “snow on cedar” candle is kind of nice, too). Anyhoot, this song was playing and I almost asked the salesgirl what it was when I remembered I have Shazam! I really like the wordless vocalizing bits.
“Come Back When You Can” - Barcelona (listen / buy)
Mark bade me listen to Barcelona’s “Absolutes” and it’s lovely. (Thanks, Mark! :D) Since I’ve only heard it once or twice, it’s not committed to the Music Vault, yet, so I found myself Shazam-ing it as it played over this week’s denouement in…”The Vampire Diaries”. What? (:
