A nice iPad magazine
! That is so cool. I was never a fan of the turning pages metaphor as extended to things other than, well, things with pages and I really like when apps embrace the environment they’ve got.
More reasons to love the Now Playing app and it’s Netflix integration. Lets you choose between DVD and Blu-ray, too. Woot.
ESPN Score Center just got a pretty nice update. Score notifications for no only your favourite teams, but also for one-off matches you’re interested in (e.g. the result of the Army-Navy game determines whether UCLA gets to a bowl game (: ).
Plus: it loads up faster. Woo.
Magic Hour (App Store, $3.99) (hat tip to Dave).
I’ve had this app all of…12 hours and I am 100% smitten with it. Look how well all that information is presented! 4 stages of daylight, current stage, and moon visibility in one bar.
Terribly useful for photographers and flat-out excellent for nerds like me who like knowing which phase the moon’s in at a given time (a secondary info panel shows the upcoming phase dates and moonrise times! eeek).
(Like the Clock app, I add cities I’ve visited and very much want to visit besides my current location. (: )

My organization is a combination of muscle memory (it feels wrong to not have iPod upper right) and color-matching (like the way ESPN Fantasy Football’s split background matches the app on either side…). (:
(The yellow border around Centipede makes me a little crazy.)
Rate iPhone Apps Friday
maniacalrage:
Take 10 or 15 minutes out of your day today and rate/review some of the apps you use on your iPhone in the App Store. Most people have tons of apps on their phones, many of which they love, but we’re all guilty of forgetting or not bothering to review them in the store.
Let’s make this afternoon the first official Rate iPhone Apps Friday.
I rated and reviewed 12 applications today, including BirdBrain (★★★★★), Wikipanion Plus (★★★★★) and Alive 4-ever (★★★★).
A capital idea! (:
I rated 15(!) including: Pano (5★), AccuFuel (4★), Momentile (5★), One Bus Away (5★), Scrabble (4★).
