Before living in Seattle, New Belgium and Pyramid, etc. were totally exotic. Melting pot that it is, Los Angeles just doesn’t have a huge love affair with brands-without-football-commercials. (Father’s Office¹ notwithstanding.)

¹ Skip the Santa Monica location. It’s thisbig and trying to park on Montana is an exercise in frustration. The Helms Bakery location is much bigger (with better light and parking). They do that bleu cheese-in-the-burger nonsense, there, too, though: you’re forewarned.
One of the favorite lunch spots at work has a lounge walled in by floor-to-ceiling windows. Sure, the food’s yummy, but you know I love it for the light, too. (:
