First hike of the year and I went along on the most difficult hike in the area: Mailbox Peak.
I didn’t make to the peak because for the first time in my life a fear of heights set in. 200’ before the peak. Great. But here’s what I did do…
- Made a 3900’ elevation climb in just over 2 miles
- Climbed down 3900’ in just over 2 miles…
- Fell hard and slid, four times, in icy snow
- Got some good photos
- Muddied up my Asolos really well
Suck it, Mailbox Peak!

I am sort of nerd who Voice Memos the shutter sound from her camera and sends it to a friend in the midst of their conversation about which dSLR he’s going to buy.
